Ray J’s appearance helped send the event viral on WorldStarHipHop as Frenzee Broadcasting brought artists, major brand partners and entertainment figures together at Malibu Films
The Malibu Mixer set out to bring different corners of Southern California entertainment together for one late-summer gathering. By the time the music stopped on August 29, the event had delivered exactly that, along with a viral moment that carried the celebration well beyond Malibu.
Presented by Frenzee Broadcasting alongside Chicano Hollywood, MF Records, Nikki Paige and Fr8qu8ncy, The Malibu Mixer took over Malibu Films for an eight-hour mix of live music, celebrity appearances, DJs, networking and cultural recognition. Against the Pacific Coast Highway backdrop, the event drew performers, media personalities, entrepreneurs and guests for an afternoon that gradually transitioned into an energetic evening celebration.
One of the biggest moments came with an appearance by Ray J, whose presence generated attention online and helped send The Malibu Mixer viral on WorldStarHipHop. For an event built around the intersection of entertainment, culture and media, the moment introduced the gathering to an audience far beyond those who experienced it in person.
The event also marked a major partnership with Tesla, adding one of the world’s most recognizable technology and automotive brands to The Malibu Mixer. Tesla served as the event’s exclusive transportation sponsor, bringing another level of visibility to a gathering already drawing names from across music, television, sports, media and business. The partnership also fit naturally into an event centered on Los Angeles culture, where entertainment, technology and major consumer brands increasingly intersect.
The Malibu Mixer was not structured around a single headliner or genre. Instead, the event moved between recognizable entertainment figures, independent artists, hip-hop veterans, DJs and personalities from television, sports and media.
Hosted by Fatell of The After Party Radio Show and Rico On Your Radio, the event brought together a broad roster that included Ray J, Ras Kass, Bishop Lamont, Baron Davis (aka Bart Oatmeal), Walter Jones, King Moore, Roscoe (DPG), Young Sam, Nikki Paige, Hazel, Abigail V, Mr. Cat Daddy, Magic BMB Of ARC, Anaya Lovenote, Compton Menace, Dylan Judah, Shyra Sanchez, BroshiGeez, K-Boy, Te Money and The Gang WGO, Niquio, No Limit Latin & More!
The variety kept the afternoon from feeling like a conventional concert. Guests moved between performances, introductions and conversations, with the Malibu Films setting giving the gathering the atmosphere of an entertainment-industry mixer while maintaining the energy of a live event.
Music throughout the day came from DJ Mike V, DJ Bryan D of Power 106 FM and DJ Jensen, along with additional guest DJs. The soundtrack carried the gathering from its afternoon opening into the evening, while the Fr8qu8ncy Specialty Hour added another element to the programming.

The Malibu Mixer also made room to recognize entertainers whose influence stretches across generations. During the Living Legend Award Ceremony, ODM of A Lighter Shade of Brown and Walter Jones, known to generations of fans as the original Black Power Ranger, were honored for their contributions to entertainment and popular culture.
That combination of established names and newer talent was an important part of the event’s identity. Rather than separating legacy artists from emerging performers, The Malibu Mixer placed them within the same environment. For guests, it created an opportunity to see familiar faces while discovering artists and personalities they may not have encountered before.
Outside of the stage programming, the gathering extended into food, fashion, lifestyle and networking. The event’s all-white dress code stood out against the Malibu coastline as the afternoon moved toward sunset, while sponsors, vendors and brand partners contributed to the larger experience.
Along with its major partnership with Tesla, The Malibu Mixer received support from official sponsors Renkus-Heinz Performance Made Perfect Sound Containment Tech, directed by Sound professionals, Faraday Future, Woooo Energy Drink, Quickies Wraps By Jerry K, Anti Recidivism Coalition, J and P Beef Jerky, BudHut LA, WestCoastn Birds, Grandma’s Old Fashion Butter Bunches, FOO Events, Munchies Edibles, The Watche, Century 21 Masters and Ducqets Clothing.
Official vendors included Los Chingones, Mapachito’s Ice Cream Cafe, Raw Cane Super Juice, Emerald, The 86ers Brand, The Hat Plug, Chapatito Chamoy Antojitos, Royal Blunts, AM Wellness Cold Pressed Juice and Cone Zone, bringing food, refreshments and lifestyle offerings into the mix throughout the day.
For Frenzee Broadcasting, the event demonstrated what can happen when an entertainment gathering is allowed to cross categories. Music remained at its center, but The Malibu Mixer also created space for sports, television, independent media, business, major brand partnerships and cultural recognition.
Perhaps the clearest measure of the event’s reach came after the cameras started rolling online. Ray J’s appearance and the resulting viral attention on WorldStarHipHop gave The Malibu Mixer a digital life beyond Malibu Films, while the involvement of a company as recognizable as Tesla signaled the level of partnerships the event was able to attract.
In a crowded Los Angeles entertainment calendar, getting people through the door is only part of the challenge. Creating an event that produces memorable moments, attracts recognizable partners and continues generating conversation after the final performance is another.
On August 29, The Malibu Mixer managed to do all three.
