As the founder, president and chief executive officer of USA Express Legal & Investigative Services Inc., based in Woodland Hills, California, he offers risk control and investigator assistance to law firms throughout the state. Lifelong Curiosity Leads to Investigative Work
Mr. Kazakian’s journey into investigative work began in emergency medicine. From 1982 to 1997, he worked as an emergency medical technician and first responder in Los Angeles.
Between 1988 and 2009, he worked for the Automobile Club of Southern California as a claims adjuster, handling high-exposure cases. This practical experience sharpened Mr. Kazakian’s attention to detail and eventually led him to establish his own firm.
Having moved to the United States with his parents at age 12, Mr. Kazakian enjoyed solving puzzles since childhood. He liked finding out what happened, what factors contributed, and how the situation could have been avoided. It was that same curiosity that piqued his interest in the private investigation industry.
A Firm Committed to Justice
In 1998, Mr. Kazakian established USA Express Legal & Investigative Services Inc. The company provides risk control services and investigates accidents and wrongful death cases.
Mr. Kazakian also works as a claims adjuster and private investigator, handling cases himself. He oversees the day-to-day operations and reviews every investigator’s report before a case is closed.
Mr. Kazakian determines what additional steps investigators should take to pursue new leads. “Never allow evil to win” has been the motto guiding his work for decades. His motivation is to secure justice for people who have suffered life-altering losses.
New Technology Supports Nationwide Expansion
USA Express Legal & Investigative Services Inc. has recently expanded its operations. “We’ve obviously grown and now have investors and have acquired another company,” Mr. Kazakian says. “We’re still doing the same thing, just on a larger scale.”
The company has also launched an app named USA Legal Intake. This app sends client details directly into the process servers and investigator files in real time. The tool helps law firms speed up client intake and submit service-of-process and investigation requests.
The app is currently available in California counties and many counties in Arizona and Texas. Mr. Kazakian believes the app will be available to legal teams across the country within the next few years.
Recognition for Service to Victims and Attorneys
Mr. Kazakian has been awarded several honors throughout his career. In 1987, he and his team were named Ambulance Team of the Year by the Glendale Fire Department. The Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles has acknowledged his work in clerical support, education and guidance. The California Highway Patrol 11-99 Foundation has also recognized his donations.
Mr. Kazakian attributes such recognition to the trust that attorneys and families place in his team and his qualifications. He obtained his private investigator’s certificate from the School of Private Investigations in Atlanta in 2001. He is licensed as a claims adjuster by the California Department of Insurance. Moreover, he is a licensed private investigator with the state’s Bureau of Security and Investigative Services. Mr. Kazakian is also certified as a criminal defense investigator.
