Mikey Tableman Turns Chaos Into Connection With My Manic Maze and A Mind’s Pursuit

In a world more connected than ever yet lonelier than it’s ever been, Michael “Mikey” Tableman is building something rare: a place where honesty isn’t a risk, but a lifeline.

The Los Angeles–based speaker, poet, and founder of the nonprofit A Mind’s Pursuit didn’t set out to become a voice in mental health advocacy. His work was born from a darker, quieter place, a moment when he nearly didn’t survive his own story. For years, Mikey lived what looked like a dream: working in hospitality, surrounded by celebrities, festivals, and nightlife energy that never seemed to stop. But internally, he was unraveling. Addiction, anxiety, and depression became a constant hum beneath the surface until the noise grew too loud to bear.

“I hit a point where I didn’t want to be here anymore,” he shares. “When I survived that moment, I realized I wasn’t meant to be done, I was meant to do something with it. I didn’t want my pain to just be something I got through. I had to believe it was all for a reason. I wanted it to mean something to build something that could help someone else feel less alone.”

That defining moment became the beginning of A Mind’s Pursuit, not a brand, but a bridge. A nonprofit built on the belief that vulnerability is not weakness, and that healing begins the moment someone finally feels seen.

Changing the Conversation on What It Means to Be Human

Tableman’s work is rooted in dismantling the stigma that keeps people silent.

“The world treats mental health like something we whisper about, when it’s something we all live with in one way or another, ” he says. “I’m trying to show that struggling doesn’t make you weak. It makes you real. The goal isn’t to fix people, it’s to free them from the shame of being human. Through storytelling, art, and honest dialogue, I’m working to make vulnerability something we value instead of something we hide.”

Through storytelling, art, and open dialogue, A Mind’s Pursuit is reframing the narrative around emotional struggle. Rather than offering quick fixes or surface-level motivation, Mikey’s mission is to create spaces where honesty feels safe — whether in a podcast episode, a poetry performance, or a live community event.

And people are responding. Celebrity guests such as actor James Lafferty, musician Sam Pounds, and content creator Nikki Howard have spoken on his Chaos Controlled podcast about the safety they felt sharing their truth on-air. At red carpet events, talents like Camryn Manheim (Law & Order) and Katherine LaNasa (The Pit) have praised Tableman’s capacity to ask the questions most people avoid, the ones that make people feel genuinely understood.

But the impact isn’t measured by star power. It’s the quiet messages from strangers after live events. The man who walked into an Alchemy experience expecting to listen but ended up crying and saying it was the first time he’d felt safe in years. The person who said a single poem “put words to something I’ve never been able to explain.”

These moments, Mikey says, are the metrics that matter.

My Manic Maze: Turning Pain Into Art, and Art Into Connection

Now, Tableman is preparing for his most personal creative undertaking yet: My Manic Maze, his debut spoken word EP and poetry book releasing in 2026. The project transforms his lived experiences with addiction, anxiety, depression, and recovery into raw, evocative storytelling that aims to spark global conversation.

“What Mikey’s doing with My Manic Maze is something we haven’t seen before — it’s not just music, it’s medicine. He’s creating art that helps people face it. It’s different, it’s necessary, and it’s real,” says music executive Big Billy Clark.

My Manic Maze marks a major evolution for Tableman, merging his advocacy and artistry into a single mission-driven creative force. It is designed to make mental health conversations approachable, human, and deeply felt, the kind of art that doesn’t just inspire people, but frees them.

What a Focus on Wellness Can Do

Millions are silently battling burnout, anxiety, addiction, depression, and emotional overwhelm. Yet despite global conversations around mental health, stigma, and shame remain firmly rooted.

Most people are not seeking another wellness trend. They’re seeking something real, permission to be honest. They’re craving connection, depth, and spaces where they don’t have to pretend.

“What people want isn’t to feel better right away,” Mikey explains. “They want to feel seen. Because once someone feels seen, the healing has already begun.”

His work resonates because he isn’t preaching from a podium. Instead, he’s speaking from lived experience. His greatest differentiator? He’s willing to go first.

“In a world built on filters and facades, honesty is the rarest thing we have left,” he says. “So I’m choosing honesty every time.”

The Effect That Doesn’t Fade When the Lights Go Out

The results of Tableman’s work aren’t easily quantified — and that’s the point. Healing isn’t captured by statistics; it’s a feeling, a sensation, a sense of peace, a moment of joy. It’s the spark returning to someone’s eyes. It’s the moment a person stops pretending long enough to breathe.

The possibility, he believes, is far bigger than himself.

He envisions a culture where vulnerability is normalized, where men can talk openly about pain, where kids grow up emotionally literate, and where workplaces value humanity as much as productivity.

“I want people to stop surviving their chaos and start understanding it,” he says. “When they do, they start living in alignment with their purpose instead of their fear.”

That shift can change lives and communities long after the conversation ends.
