The Golden Generation In Goldy’s Corner

The Golden Generation In Goldy’s Corner

There’s something extraordinary, almost shocking, about the photo from last night’s show that you have to know.

At first glance, it’s all picture-perfect. We played at a private sorority party, surrounded by beautiful, bright young women beaming with purpose and radiating strength. These weren’t just partygoers—they were powerhouses in heels, building community and paving the future with a sparkle in their eyes and fire in their hearts.

And the fellas? Absolute class acts. One stood out, Josh Gershon offering his suit jacket to his date Summer Stuckey to keep her warm as he gazed at her like a modern-day gentleman from a bygone era. It wasn’t a one-off, either. Every fraternity member I met was respectful, kind, helpful, and full of humility. I’ve played hundreds of shows, casinos, fairs, festivals, and I can count on one hand the number of times someone’s offered to carry my gear. But last night? A young man stopped dead in his tracks, looked me in the eye, and said, “Ma’am, let me take that for you. What else can I help with?” I nearly fell over—not from my broken toe, no one knew about or the back pain from hitting it too hard at the gym, but from shock. No one ever asks.

That’s what makes this generation so incredible. They see people. They’re being raised right. The “ma’ams” may sting a little (I’m not that old!), but I’d take that over being ignored any day. It wasn’t about age—it was about respect. And this generation? They’re overflowing with it.

A few weeks ago, I met a young man—we’ll call him William—who’s studying to become a pharmacist. His girlfriend, also in the same program, brought him to another sorority event, and the two of them looked like they had walked out of a classic love story. It was a white-themed party, and every woman there wore white dresses—feminine, elegant, and powerful. But what stood out most wasn’t the fashion. It was the dynamic. These women were admired, cherished, respected, and they knew it.

William told me his entire fraternity was made up of future pharmacists. He described it as the greatest built-in support system of his life. If he had a question, he had many brothers to ask. That’s not just a college club—that’s a village. A future built on camaraderie, kindness, and shared success.

Another sorority we played for not long ago focused entirely on empowerment and sisterhood. It was raw, real, and beautiful. No cliques. No ego. Just women who stood for one another, who walked side by side through life’s messes and milestones. I left that night feeling nothing but love, inclusion, and hope.

And here’s the real shocker: many of these young people, the ones some criticize for being “too young” to lead or serve, are the exact ones leading us into tomorrow. Some are already serving our country and receiving medals of honor. Their age doesn’t define them—their character does.

So, to the doubters and naysayers, I say this: age doesn’t equal ability. We need to start talking about what’s going right in our world—and these young leaders are at the top of that list.

What I witnessed last night—and at so many other shows like it—wasn’t just a party. It was a glimpse of our future. And let me tell you, it is brilliant. Full of kindness. Full of purpose. Full of golden light.

So here’s your front-row report from a leather-studded rocker who’s been there, microphone in hand and gear on her back: the next generation is already showing up. And they’re not just ready. They’re extraordinary.

Stay golden. The future is already here—and it looks a lot like love, respect, and hope in high heels and suit jackets.
