The Top Shelf Thief

There is a new, top-shelf tequila shaking up SoCal nightlife. With its award-winning, additive-free expressions clothed in a curvy bottle, Tequila Gran Diamante is an ultra-premium line that wants the world to “rethink luxury.” Inspired by the Spanish word for diamond, Diamante shines bright with the sophistication and perfection of a flawless diamond, stealing the top shelf at every establishment it meets.

Diamante is an exclusively crafted tequila made for a new generation of spirit devotees. True to the brand’s message, Diamante is “nothing but the best” in its category of spirits, and has been generating a major buzz in recent months. Diamante was previously featured in last year’s August issues of Tequila Aficionado Magazine and Voyage Phoenix Magazine, the November issue of Voyage LA Magazine, and TMZ Sports in August. In more recent months, this new, smooth diamond is also being featured in Maxim, LA Weekly, Business Insider, and many other publications.

Diamante undergoes a rigorous, detailed production process, with the use of well water and the exclusion of all additives, diffusers and additional sweeteners. It is made from only the highest quality, 100% Blue Weber Agave plants that are grown to maturity in the red-rich volcanic soil of Jalisco, Mexico. The brand’s three main expressions consist of Plata, Reposado, and Añejo. The Plata contains aromas of spice, vegetal and floral tones, and vanilla. The Reposado is aged in French Oak barrels for eight months, and carries hints of caramel, slight wood and smoke. After aging in French Oak barrels for 18 months, the Añejo introduces to the palate hints of muted spice, pepper, oak, butterscotch, cinnamon and nutmeg spices, slight smoke, wood, chocolate and cigar. Diamante’s specialty offerings of Extra Añejo and the up-and-coming, smoky Mezcal are just as smooth and elegant as its staple line.

Diamante is a new approachable, inclusive tequila for all. Alberto Juarez, Diamante’s Director of Operations in Mexico, says that the brand excludes no one, with each expression catering to individual tastes. Despite different preferences when it comes to tequila, this lineup seems to have something for everyone, evident in how all three expressions receive equal amounts of love when introduced to any restaurant staff.

Diamante has received a myriad of awards in the past few years. Even in the midst of a global pandemic, Diamante’s Añejo scored 96 points, its Reposado 94 points, and its Plata 93 points at the Tequila and Spirits Awards in 2021. At the 2021 Tequila Aficionado Awards, Diamante took home Gold for its Añejo, Gold for its Reposado, and Platinum for its Plata. It won Silver for its Reposado, and Double Gold for its Añejo at the 2021 Sip Awards. In 2022, the brand continued to receive acclaim through many awards and in 2023, its bottle was given Best Design Award by the Beverage Testing Institute.

Diamante has appeared at many special events, and has a packed schedule for 2023. It is set to sponsor the new reality hit Netflix series “Selling OC,” and will be featured at both LA’s Tequila Fest and the Newport Beach Film Festival later this year. Cocktail creator, Jose Ricardo Aguilar, is one of the many mixologists currently using Diamante to dazzle guests at major events. Some of his popular presentations with the brand include his specialty white cocktails for James Harden’s White Birthday party, his Mexican Old Fashioned (made with Café de Olla and Diamante’s Añejo), and his “Dirty Diamante” consisting of olive juice, cucumber, and his own jalapeño sour mix.

Stealing the limelight from other brands, Diamante is knocking its competitors off the top shelf. The bottle can be found in hot spots like Beverly Hills’ Wally’s and La Gondola, Javier’s in Century City, Belles Beach House in Venice, restaurants in West Hollywood including Toca Madera and Casa Madera, and in other parts of Los Angeles like Alma Cocina, Gwen, Blue Ribbon Sushi, and Avila locations. Stores carrying the brand include Remedy Liquor locations, Emilio’s Beverage Warehouse, Ramirez Beverage Center, Monarch Beach Market, and Mission Wine and Spirits in Glendale. Diamante can also be purchased online, through its e-commerce platform available in 18 states at this time (tequiladiamante.com).

With its ultra-smooth liquid and artistic bottle, Diamante is converting members to its tribe. With its presence, it is redefining the idea of what is smooth, luxurious, and sexy. Stay tuned for more exciting news about this new, rare diamond. Come by and see us at LA’s Tequila Fest in September, where there will be some big prizes and giveaways, and the Newport Beach Film Festival, in October.
