Conservation is a critical issue in today’s world as climate change and other human activities threaten the survival of many species and ecosystems. Unfortunately, many brands use sustainability as a catchphrase or marketing gimmick without actually implementing significant changes to their business practices. On the other hand, we also have socially responsible brands that are genuinely committed to sustainability and work to reduce their environmental impact and promote social and ethical values. FashWand® LLC is one such brand.
From a young age, the company’s founder and CEO, Azi Sharif, always had a deep love and fascination for wildlife. As a child, she spent hours drawing and observing animals and even rescued an injured grebe while surfing at Newport Beach as a teenager. This love deepened as she grew older, leading her to study fine arts as an undergraduate, where she painted over 200 unique paintings and textile designs inspired by beautiful birds and wildlife. She also pursued a career in robotics, earning a Ph.D. in Applied Sciences and leading multi-million-dollar technology programs and cross-functional teams.
As she grew her career, Azi discovered she could combine her expertise in entrepreneurship and design with her passion for art, fashion, and wildlife. In 2016, she founded FashWand LLC, a company with a mission to inspire and empower individuals to protect wildlife through exquisite, luxurious fashion, arts, and décor. At FashWand, they believe in using environmentally friendly materials and natural fibers, such as organic cotton, bamboo, tencel, and hemp to manufacture their products. Each piece is individually hand-made with attention to detail in Los Angeles, ensuring that they are beautifully crafted and made with high-quality materials that can last for a long time.
FashWand’s philosophy is that it is much more environmentally friendly to have fewer fashion items that are well-made and loved rather than buying many cheaply made items that will need to be frequently replaced, contributing to pollution and waste.

As the CEO of FashWand, Azi combines her love for fashion with her passion for conservation, creating a brand that is not only stylish but also meaningful and impactful for wildlife worldwide. Whether through hand-painted tops and dresses or through her efforts to raise awareness about the importance of conservation, Azi’s goal is to make a difference for wildlife and the natural world.
“FashWand takes an innovative approach to fashion by combining fine art, fashion, science, education, and wildlife conservation while creating luxurious eye-catching eco-sustainable fashion,” Azi explains. “We’re dedicated to saving wildlife from extinction through education, collaborations, and partnerships with wildlife conservation foundations.”
These efforts benefit every stakeholder. By educating people about the value of conservation, Azi and her team are helping consumers make a difference in conservation through their purchasing power. By supporting environmentally and socially responsible brands, consumers can help promote sustainable practices and protect the natural world.

FashWand supports native California wildlife and other species from around the world, which is made possible by the brand’s consumers’ trust in its products. The brand’s exclusive Wildlife Jewels® collections include rare and endangered wildlife such as the Asiatic cheetah, rhinos, parrots, pangolins, and elephants that are racing extinction due to wildlife trafficking and poaching; and native Wildlife such as elegant terns, burrowing owls, elephant seals, and pelicans that are in great danger from human-caused threats.

“Every single wildlife is unique, every single wildlife is precious, and every single wildlife has a unique story,” Azi adds. Her company’s mission is spreading awareness and amplifying its impact on wildlife conservation.
