7 Steps to Develop Your Intuitive Mind

Have you ever had a moment where you strongly felt as though something just wasn’t right? Maybe a negative feeling about someone you have just met, but without knowing why? We call this gut feeling intuition. It’s that feeling in your gut when you instinctively know that what you are doing is right or wrong. This feeling appears quickly in our consciousness without us having a definite reason. Most of us don’t really pay attention to our intuitive minds as we often tend to feel uncomfortable about the unknown. But the combination of both reason and instinct helps us to make the best decisions in all of our lives. So follow these simple steps below to hone your instinct and develop your intuitive mind.

  1. Recognize When Your Intuition Sends Messages

Intuition is subtle and comes to different people in different ways. Sometimes you will sense emotional messages, such as a feeling of unease or a feeling of elation in certain situations, but sometimes you may experience physical signs, such as goosebumps or a sour taste in mouth. It’s imperative to recognize when your intuition is speaking.

  1. Meditation

Meditation is a great way to connect to your inner self and broaden your sixth sense. Put aside several minutes from your busy schedule to practice your meditation. Frequent meditation clears your mind from your countless distractions and helps you recognize the subtle messages from your mind. In fact, meditation is the best way to train yourself to understand your intuition and make it stronger and louder.

  1. Write It All Down

Pen down all your thoughts and feelings on paper. Intuitive messages from your mind can appear and disappear very quickly. Keeping a journal of your thoughts is a good way to record your emotional responses to the situation and capture your instinctive wisdom. It will also help the nonconscious mind to open up.

  1. Take Immediate Action

When your intuition sends a message, don’t hesitate to act on it. Don’t second-guess yourself. When you act on the information your mind sends you, the communication between your conscious and subconscious mind becomes broader, further developing your intuitive mind.

  1. Learn from the past

Think back on a negative experience. Do you remember how you felt before this experience? Did you have a feeling that something wasn’t right? Maybe you had a dream or felt a sense of dread before this experience? Try to remember how you felt before this event and note the warning signs you ignored. These can help you in the future.

  1. Turn Off Your Inner Critic

Sometimes, we tend to ignore our intuition and dismiss it as illogical because we can’t come up with a valid reason to explain it. Don’t try to ignore or rationalize your inner voice. Embrace it without fear and let it guide you to a better future.

  1. Trust yourself

Always have trust in yourself. Trusting your intuition is all about the trust you have in yourself. Trusting in yourself and your intuition can change your life for the better. The more you trust your intuitive mind, the more success you will have in your life.
