Los Angeles based filmmaker Abhishek Chandra’s latest venture bags over 20 International awards.

Ladybug a Portuguese-English short from the award-winning Producer-Director Abhishek Chandra has been on an international awards crusade. Bagging over 20 international awards in festivals like Venice Film Awards, Druk International Film Festival, Indo-Singapore International Film Festival, Mumbai International Film Festival, Virgin Spring Cinefest to Europe Film Festival and others, Ladybug is winning hearts and accolades globally. 

Based on a true story by Isabela Valotti, who not only wrote the film but also stars as its lead actor. Ms. Valotti’s performance for this film have won her numerous awards as well. She won the Best Actress at Sao Paolo Film Festival, Port Blair Film Festival, Andaman & Nicobar Island International Film Festival, Indo-Singapore International Film Festival and was nominated in few others.

Ladybug tells a story about a young daughter, Olivia who wakes up to the sudden realization of loss after a triggering phone call from her mother. The film poignantly deals with Olivia’s struggle to deal with loss of her father on his first death anniversary. Ladybug is not only heartfelt but also boasts of some extraordinary performances from its stellar cast consisting of Andre Mattos, Mia Drake and Isabela Valotti. Produced under Meraki Studios by Abhishek Chandra and Isabela Valotti, Ladybug will soon release on a digital streaming service in November this year once it finishes its festival run. 

With over 20 international wins and more than 10 nominations and still few months to go, Ladybug is expected to clinch few more awards before it gets its global release later this year.
