Saman Sarathchandra, General Manager of dusitD2 The Fort Manila (D2FM) and Dusit Hospitality College Manila (DHMC) has been awarded the Philippines Best General Managers (Hospitality) Award recently at Dusit Thani Hotel Manila. The award is endorsed by CMO Asia & the World Federation of Hospitality Professionals.
This award is an independent brand recognition exercise initiated to give recognition to those individuals who have achieved extraordinary success from innovative and effective people management & customer satisfaction.
“I’m extremely proud to have received this award, but the recognition received is truly a part of teamwork too. Working for Dusit International is more than a job; it’s a privilege, said the general manager of dusitD2 the Fort and DHMC, Mr. Saman Sarathchandra.
This win is in addition to his back-to-back victories for five consecutive years at the World Travel Awards for Myanmar Leading Hotels (Sedona Yangon).
He remembers, “A few years ago, when John McCain visited Myanmar, I welcomed him and his colleagues at Sedona Hotel Yangon. The hotel staff was dressed up in traditional costumes representing different ethnic groups in the country. John McCain was utterly happy to see them and greeted all of them with a handshake. I chatted with John and Joe Lieberman and shared some stories and laughs at the Club Lounge. I consider myself so fortunate to have known them the way I did”
Saman Sarathchandra secured further honors when he was awarded for the ‘Best Performing Unit Overseas in an Organisational Climate Survey by Keppel Land ltd a few years ago.
Saman is a Swiss Hotel Graduate with, a holder of a “Lehrmeister ” SWISS-BIGA – Recognized SHL Diploma and a winner of World Travel Awards for Leading Hotels.
