Memorial Day is fast approaching and while companies across Los Angeles and the rest of the United States get ready with their “Memorial Day Sale” ideas, superstar actress Megan Fox and retired Army Veteran-turned multi-millionaire business owner Colin Wayne, have a different approach to the big upcoming weekend later this month.
With television shows back in production, together, the pair went in-studio on The Kelly Clarkson Show based here in Universal City last week to announce a $1 million pledge in products to the families of Veterans who have paid the ultimate sacrifice, but to also educate Americans on the true meaning of Memorial Day.
“Memorial Day is a day to not honor me, but to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. Nine years ago that could have been me that got killed and fortunately I am here to be a voice for the voiceless. I’m here to be a voice for family members that lost loved ones. It’s important to me as an entrepreneur and as a Veteran to be hands extended and that voice to those who simply do not have a voice. Memorial Day is known for companies monetizing. What we are doing is the opposite of a ‘Memorial Day Sale’. We want to put people over profit, and we want to truly spread the message through this giveback. It’s not about me as a businessman, but all about the family members who lost their loved ones,” Wayne stated while on the show.
Last year, Wayne spoke to the Tribune on the education between Veterans Day vs. Memorial Day, telling us, “A lot of people confuse Veteran’s Day with Memorial Day, which should be noted that these two days of remembrance have different meanings. Veterans Day is meant to celebrate and honor all of those that have served our country by thanking them for their sacrifice to our country. On the contrary, Memorial Day is recognized as a day of tribute to those that served the military and sacrificed their life fighting for our freedom.”
The second annual Memorial Day giveback item (pictured) is the second time Wayne and Fox have come together. Last year they raised over $2.5 million, and while this year they have pledged that one million, there is no doubt they will far succeed that goal in the coming weeks.
After last year’s success, Fox said, “What Colin went through overseas to then create his company now to be able to do this type of giveback is extraordinary. It was a no-brainer to be a part of this Memorial Day promotion and give back to those who knew and are related to ones who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.”
As Clarkson ended her show, she couldn’t thank the pair enough, saying over and over again, “I am so happy you two have teamed up, this is incredible,” to the applause of the audience.
The product will be available on Wayne’s company website http://www.RedlineSteel.com this upcoming Memorial Day. The LA Tribune will continue to update all those here in LA and across the US on how the upcoming promotion does, while keeping Wayne/Fox’s message going strong!
