LISTEN TO SHANI’S MUSIC
We all have by now our Christmas favorites. Whether it’s Frank Sinatra softly crooning his top ballads, or maybe the sing-song voice of Mariah Carey in “All I Want for Christmas”, we have a pretty well-defined Christmas playlist already in our minds. But that shouldn’t mean we don’t add new songs to it. And luckily for you, we’ve got just the thing. This next track comes at you from a world-renowned artist whose inspiring, memorable songs can be heard all over the world.
“Light of the World” is the latest musical offering from American singer and songwriter SHANI, a lady as talented as she is beautiful. Having recently enjoyed enormous success with her track “Changing Tides”, SHANI returns to spread some much-needed holiday cheer in this new single.
As we’ve come to expect from this artist by now, the track is a beautiful, complex blend of a wide range of genres. There are certain jazzy elements that make “Light of the World” into an instant holiday favorite, as it’s reminiscent of some of our favorite carols. At the same time, SHANI keeps the song upbeat and modern, making it easy to love (and easy to dance to, as well!) even for the pickiest of listeners.
One thing that’s truly commendable about this latest hit is that it was performed and recorded remotely, with each artist making their contribution from their own home or studio, as per current safety regulations. SHANI is joined on this one by Orbel “Orbellion” Babayan on guitar, bass, and keyboard (he is also a producer for the track), and LaDarrel “Saxappeal” Johnson, of course, on saxophone.
The music video is heartwarming and undoubtedly touching, showing each of the performers enjoying the holidays in their own well-decorated homes. The beautiful message of hope that the song and the video leave us with is true to SHANI’s spirit and good nature.
An artist as kind as she is talented, SHANI can be frequently found heading various charitable organizations and using her voice to raise awareness and money for various great causes.
