We recently learned about BrownCryptoKid, a young entrepreneur who’s helping non-tech savvy people to learn about cryptocurrency. But not only that! He’s using some of the proceeds from his work to donate thousands of dollars to several charities that fight to end sex-trafficking. Causes like his are worth supporting and learning about, so we decided to interview BrownCryptoKid to tell his story in his own words. Enjoy!
Question: You have been getting a ton of attention lately, can you explain what the buzz is about?
BrownCryptoKid: Basically, what I do is teach cryptocurrency in a way that’s super easy to understand for people who are not tech-savvy. I don’t use technical language or any of that mumbo-jumbo. I simply show people exactly what cryptocurrency is and what it can do, in the simplest of terms. I also donate some of the funds to support charities that work to end child-trafficking.
Q: What percentage do you donate and how much have you raised so far?
BCK: I donate 20% of my total proceeds every month and the rest of the money is re-invested into the firm so I can pay the people who help me create content and market my brand. Such as designers and researchers. In our first week, we raised over $1,000 and we hope to continue growing.
Q: Wow, that’s incredible! Congratulations. Now, some people are very skeptical about cryptocurrency even today. What would you say to them?
BCK: I’m not a financial advisor, but I see the potential of cryptocurrency. It has existed for a very long time, but now there’s a lot more regulatory clarity than ever. We have crypto exchanges becoming banks, and banks adopting crypto and digital assets. So, it’s the real deal, it’s not a conspiracy anymore. If you want to ignore it, you can, but that doesn’t mean it’s going away.
Q: I agree. Can you explain how cryptocurrency works in simple terms?
BCK: The face of cryptocurrency is a coin known as Bitcoin and it has a huge place in the market because it was the first cryptocurrency ever invented. Now, Bitcoin has a mechanism built into its network which cuts the Bitcoin reward supply in half every 4 years, this is called “halving”. Logically, when that happens, demand rises making the prices shoot upwards exponentially.
After the first halving took place in November 2012, the price of Bitcoin went from $12 to $650. After the second halving in July 2016, the price went up to almost $20,000. The latest one happened in May 2020. Bitcoin sits at around $10,000 and I can see it move up 10 to 25 times that amount in the future.
Of course, Bitcoin is not the only cryptocurrency and there are many others out there that have great potential. What I do is talk about these coins and see how they can become the next Bitcoin.
Q: So, how did your journey begin?
BCK: I had one main goal when I started—to get everyone red-pilled on cryptocurrency. In my journey, I’ve learned two very important things. First, nothing is free and nothing is easy. When I started, I was doing this for free. I would make posts about cryptocurrency on Instagram and Twitter and I talked about how real it is and how it has the potential to change our lives forever.
Slowly, but surely, I started getting more and more followers. So, when I realized I had a small following, I decided I could teach them what I know in exchange for money I could donate to charities I believed in.
But at that moment, I was providing my content for free, so people didn’t see the need to pay for it. I was surprised, but it made sense. So I slowly started to gather a small group who would pay for my services. I didn’t care how small it was, I was happy to do something and I knew it would grow.
Second, I realized I couldn’t do this on my own. I was buried in work and I was doing everything on my own. So I decided to recruit my brother and my friends and I would give them a cut, but still donate most of the earnings to charity. And that’s where my brand truly came to fruition. I went viral on Twitter a few times, I was invited on podcasts hosted by big influencers, and here we are today!
Q: That’s very inspiring! So, what do you teach in your courses, and what’s the cost?
BCK: Well, we have our main club, which is the BrownCryptoKid Club for Crypto Newbies and the basic package has a cost of $20 per month. Which is the package we recommend to newcomers because it allows them to learn as much as possible and then they’ll be free to upgrade if they want to.
When you sign up, you immediately get access to all the video courses we have published so far, which have powerful visuals and narration. We add 3 to 5 courses at the beginning of every month and you get access to exclusive and additional content every 2 months if you get the basic package. If you upgrade to the standard package, you get the exclusive content earlier. Plus, Standard and VIP clients can also book Zoom calls with me where we can discuss all kinds of questions and doubts.
We’re also introducing a new club very soon, the BrownCryptoKid Club for Advanced Crypto Trading, where people will learn how to read charts and make money by trading cryptocurrencies, so keep an eye out for that!
You can access all this on www.browncryptokid.com
A: That’s great to hear! But, can’t we find similar courses on the internet for free?
BCK: Yes, you can! But most of those courses are not focused on a specific audience, so they’re very general. People who are not tech-savvy and also the elderly, will have a hard time understanding. Plus, free courses are very basic. If you want more advanced courses, they could cost you at least $100 on sites like Udemy. In contrast, my focus is not only to make cryptocurrency easy to understand, but also to provide affordable content.
A: Thank you for your time, this was great!
BCK: Thank you for having me!
