Hello Los Angeles and beyond
I am Joe Ingram with your business minute. We are all busy and I want to make sure you know the relevant business bullets for the week ending June 5th 2020
- Unemployment dips from 14.7% to 13.3% that is relevant because that means we picked 2.5 million jobs in May with most states reopening after seeing the real numbers of COVID19
- Government allows airlines to stop service to some airports, so business travels need to jump on their airline of choice and make sure your business trips wont require flight changes or worse, extended drive times to your destination
- Along the lines of travel, less travel creates less demand for new airplanes and Boeing the plane maker cut more than 12 thousand jobs here in the US
- Amtrak is asking the government for a 1.5B bailout
- Hertz files for bankruptcy due to COVID19
- Macy’s estimates its first quarter losses at over 1 Billion dollars
