As May 21st comes around each year, we are reminded of the birthday of Chris Benoit, one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, who’s legacy will be haunted by the traumatic suicide that ended his life. While the exact things running through his mind will never be known, it’s clear now that he was dealing with issues like depression and suffering from CTE (a concussion-related illness). These issues and others like them are matters that can affect all of us. Whether it is bullying, COVID related issues, or depression, the things that can get us down are numerous. The world can be a dark place sometimes, but it’s how we shine a light onto that darkness that makes the difference.
And so on Benoit’s birthday, we are reminded what a gift life truly is and with that, the Goldy lockS Band has begun to release their long-awaited project, All To You. A song and ambitious video project over a year in the making, they could think of no more appropriate time of year to bring forth their message of hope. With frontwoman Goldy a former wrestling personality, and the video starring some of the biggest names in the sports entertainment & the entertainment industry, it was a natural fit.

Since her stint on TNA IMPACT Wrestling, Goldy has performed as one of the hardest working rock bands in the nation and been a frequent guest star on shows ranging from CBS’s The Talk, TLC’s Cheapskates to CMT’s Running Wild with Ted Nugent. One day though she felt compelled to write All To You, a song steeped in the Christian values of her upbringing. “I felt a spirit move through me when I started to write this. As if Jesus came back in modern-day with a message of self-worth, kindness, and acceptance. I felt him tell me to tell his story.”
The song is based on the classic story of ‘Footprints in the Sand’ merged with one of Goldy’s favorite books from her childhood “The Giving Tree’ by Shel Silverstein. In word and in video it seeks to show people that they are not alone, and that suicide is never the answer. Through video, they show the many ways people take their own lives, be it by drug overdose, by staying in abusive relationships, or at their own hand. They also highlight the many reasons why people feel that it may be the only option. PTSD, depression, bullying/cyberbullying, the loss of a loved one, these are all real issues that millions struggle with, often alone because they are too afraid to reach out.
In these times of quarantine and COVID-19, many people feel more alone than ever. The loss of loved ones, people out of work, or even just the stress of stay at home orders, it all weighs people down. But this video shows that together, we can build a better world for each other following the example of Christ’s sacrifice.
In much the same way that Benoit’s surviving son, David, is seeking to start a career wrestling under his father’s name, this project wants to show the long term effects such tragic events. Just as David Benoit is trying to take his father’s legacy and try to turn it into a positive that can help others, this project wants to start a conversation and highlight those that are left behind and struggling to deal with the aftermath. Its sometimes harsh, and biting, but the real truths that underlie it carry a message of hope that they pray will be able to help others who are struggling.
To make this enterprising project come to life the band reached out to and called upon the strengths of a number of people. WWE’s Vince Russo, one of the most controversial figures in professional wrestling has gotten back in the ring to bring attention to this important issue, initially hosting the video on his channel. To do the filming they brought in Israel Garcia of Bad Iguana Productions. To star in the video a who’s who of music and wrestling stars stepped up for this important cause. Bobby Capps (38 Special), Chris Henderson (3 Doors Down), Claudette King (The Blues Queen, Daughter of BB King), Revelation 1531 (Cousin of Tupac Shakur), James Storm (WWE /TNA), Mayra Dias Gomes (Best Selling Author, Professional Wrestler NWA), Adrianna Foster (The Voice/La Voz), Chase Stevens (WWE/TNA), Allen Funk (WCW/TNA), Rod Saylor, Suzan Bee Anthony, Sheyla Paz Hicks, Jessica Henderson, Michael Richardson, Sydney Fyke, Chris Murray, Joshua Sendish, Desmond Lane, Jamiah Bass, Ginger Ecton & Lylah Garcia have all taken part of this video.
Storm’s performance is of special note. His portrayal of a Christlike figure meant to help show that Christ gave his life for us so that we should never have to follow in those footsteps.
After this project was signed to Nashville’s MC1 Nashville, both band and artist decided to have a huge nod to American rapper Logic’s 800-273-8255 video. Like the creator and stars of that song and video, this band and label are dedicated to making change. Logic, Alessia Cara, and Khalid all helped increase awareness and calls to The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline 800-273-8255. The Goldy lockS Band is committed to following in those “Footprints In The Sand.”
Goldy brings stories to life
This video speaks important messages about mental health issues. I can relate to this myself. I have also watched my mom struggle with anxiety and depression. I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression 5 years ago. I have been struggling with this in the recent few weeks due to a personal issue going on right now. Mental health issues isn’t talked about much at all and we are losing lives. From watching this video and seeing all the hard work everyone put into this this is a long time coming. Chase Stevens is one of the hardest working wrestlers I also know him as a best friend. James Storm is also one of the hardest working wrestlers in the business as well. Thank you Goldylocks and Thank you Goldylocks band for everything.
Pretty powerful. Hope it has an impact on those that it is meant to reach and they reach out for help.
This is yet another positive message brought to you by Goldy Locks. She has a passion to tackle the tough issues that people face every single day.
When someone takes their own life they believe that the pain they are feeling will be gone, but it leave a lifetime of pain and regret for those who are left behind. The pain of “if I had only” or “I should have told them..”. Then they would still be here. The guilt of feeling If I had I paid more attention, I could have stopped them will never go away. These are things I am way too familiar with in Both my personal and professional life.
Strong work! Choose life!

Amazing song and amazing message
This was a great story of those left behind. It touched me. Thank you LA Trib for doing this story. We need more reminders.
In case you’re feeling so hopeless and still want to end your life… Call the hotline, and remember that: Suicide is just a permanent solution to a temporary problem. It doesn’t end the pain for one, but it gives hundreds of pain.
Wow. This taking a huge step for all of us. You guys are doing great and I’m proud of you all. Keep up the good work and keep spreading the good!❤️❤️
Painful and Powerful message! If only all who were considering ending it all would be touched by this and know how much they are cared for and loved by their Creator, Jesus Christ. He gave his life to save ours. What a priceless gift
