We had the pleasure of sitting down and interviewing a man who is legendary in the field of independent media. Eric Zuley has built a empire over the course of the last decade working as a content creator, brand developer and so much more. We had the opportunity to peek into this man’s unique mind with today’s Entrepreneurship Interview.
What inspired you to start EZ WAY?
I have already been a leader and not really cared what others had to say but was open to constructive criticism. EZ stands for Eric Zuley and Way is I do it my way and don’t care what you have to say. eZWay is a movement and a way of getting brands the spotlight and more visibility. I guess what inspired me was when I created my first youtube channel What U Need TV that today has over 13,000,000 views I created this to inspire and educate independants on how to network their way to the top. We interviewed other successful celebrities and entrepreneurs and asked them What we need to know to succeed in our goals. After 13 years of blood sweat and tears that went into this channel it almost was removed because of haters flagging it. Luckily God had my back and helped guide me to some of the people I still have in my life. It pays to know the right people. The right relationships are everything. Cherish them!
My dad has always been an amazing father figure in my life and his whole life he wanted to help other people and was guided by faith. So his faith and heart for others was a great guidance for me. So in closing to answer this question our Lord and savior guided me to do this after my near death experience.
How were you able to watch your company grow and flourish? What strategies did you use?
The power of appreciation! How does the saying go? You are who you hang with? I did my best to surround myself with successful 6-8 figure income earners with a heart to help. I think a lot of people relate to who I am and what we’re trying to do, faith and how many charitable organizations we have helped. Put yourself in a directors chair, write and shoot your own movie. Vision it going to the top! When I do something I already know the deal is closed going in. What strategies did I use? I do everything I can to serve first but not get taken advantage of. I always make it a win win. However you need to position yourself to be unique in how you go about collecting data. How do you make it a win win? I did and still do a lot of affiliate marketing. Our networks reach is in the millions and our affiliates and access to our influencers followings provide value to anyone. First off we built our network starting with youtube into a multimedia marketing empire and now we can pretty much get to most of our choosing.
How has being an entrepreneur affected your family life?
I put my all into my company sometimes, maybe too much. One of the key things I needed to and still need to learn is (Balance) you have to learn to balance your personal life with your business life. There is such a thing as being a workaholic which I would call myself. I try my hardest to workout, walk, eat at least 2 meals a day sometimes if I’m lucky 3 lol. How has it affected my family life? When I think first you have to figure out who you consider family. Of course my dad, my girlfriend Dr. Dante Sears, my dog Hopper and I consider my followers family that is why we call our community eZWay Family. How it has been an effect on my family would maybe be seeing my health drop. I have had my health issues because of over working and sitting too much, steering at the computer screen or phone too much can affect your eyes and over time can grow into worse and worse repercussions.
What motivates you?
What motivates me first and foremost is helping others and hearing their success stories. Many say don’t let money be your motivator. I disagree. Money is the biggest motivator because…. You can’t do anything, you can’t grow without it. My faith is a big motivator, growth and seeing what level I can beat in my life and career path is a big motivator. Each day that we get a new recourse or some sort of new advancement is a motivator. It has been a long road but I won’t stop walking it no matter how many obstacles are set in my way.
At age 14 my arm went through a window and my artery was severed and I almost died.
I watched my dad go through the worst form of lymphoma cancer ever and beat it twice. I watched him lose all his real estate property to Hurricane Katrina and still pick himself back up and stay motivated. Faith in God is the only thing that pulled me and my dad through it all!
How do you generate new ideas?
Believe it or not a lot of my best ideas come to me in the restroom usually when I’m taking a shower. I think my best Idea to date out of everything I have done in my career would have to be our eZWay Wall of Fame ezwaywall.com which is a social interactive spotlight directory that has reached 120 members 14,000 weekly views in less than 2 months. One of my secrets is don’t think, let it happen. The best songs and ideas are created from inspirations and the right sparks. Don’t ever try to force genius and creativity.
What is your greatest fear, and how do you manage fear?
My greatest fear is losing my dad, which has been there my whole life. How do I manage it is faith and remembering all he has taught me and that he loves me. I wouldn’t have what I have today if it wasn’t for my father and my eZWay family believing in me. As well as my team. I couldn’t do what I do without them.
What would you share to other business owners during this time of crisis?
Don’t look at this time of crisis as a negative situation flip your thinking. What is happening now gives a business owner that time that they need to get those projects they were putting off done. You don’t have many of those in person meeting distractions. This is one way of thinking of it. My other suggestion would be to start positioning your business to digital live streaming. Do everything you can on social media to keep and grow your audience. One of the services our company provides is TV channel start up. We help businesses create a mobile tv app and smart tv channels and train them how to build a lucrative self sustainable business.
What is the most rewarding part of doing what you do?
The smiles. My team and I love seeing the smiles on our clients face. We love knowing that our education and promotion helped them help someone else. Fundraising we have helped raise millions for needy causes over a span of 15 years. Remember you can’t take anything you have on earth with you when you hit the finish line. We do what we can to store heavenly treasures. I see the clients, tv shows, channels we have flourished to new heights and not forget where it all came from. You’re given gifts but remember it’s what you do with those gifts that matter!
For the aspiring entrepreneur reading this what advice will you give ?
It’s all about the power of association, power of appreciation, you never know where someone in your database will go. Treat everyone with the same respect and don’t just look at who they are and what they can do for you. Look at their heart and what they’re wanting to do. Don’t forget the stepping stones that help you get closer to your goals. You would be surprised how far a surprise thank you phone call or IM – Instant message will go, an email or a text message. Make sure you have the right data capturing tools and automated follow up. Affiliate marketing is key. Don’t forget that the backend revenue can be stronger then the frontend with most relationships. I have been very successful in turning many of my relationships into relationship equity through backend revenue share. Alway plant the seed in your conversation about what you’re worth and set expectations on what you want in the beginning. 4 keys to digital success are. 1. Podcasting 2. Streaming 3. E-commerce 4. Funnels Automate your business work smarter not harder. Be an innovator and follow your heart and gut and don’t let others detour your dreams.
Lastly, always keep your faith first and trust and believe in whatever that faith is.
What final words do you have for all of the supporters?
I started out with 1 microphone. 1 microphone turned into a multimedia empire reaching millions.
